I am working on quantifying different bacterial 16S gene expression from Human Tear RNA and its comparison with universal 16S RNA. I am not getting proper quantification. any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
hi, what do you mean with universal 16S RNA? How is your workflow and your assay? And why do you look on expression? If you weant to see bacterial abundance I would go for genomic in first place
Sven Reister Hi Sven, 16S universal means the primers targeting 16S region of bacterial DNA that are most conserved between bacterial species. They can serve as control for detecting any unknown bacterial species.
I am interested in detecting the expression of the 16S rRNA in those bacterial species in my samples that were most abundantly found through metagenomic analysis.
so I am interested in detecting the bacterial species 16S gene expression
As you rightly said, Genomic DNA can be used in metagenomic analysis...
