I am not able to import the parameters in ANSYS which are necessary for optimization. I tried different file types like step, sat and iges . I am using fusion360 for CAD. How should i import the design with parameters?
If you could translate your model into ABAQUS, there is a good software that can read all parameter inputs in the model. The software is (isight design gateway)
I know this is an old question however at this moment you still cannot CAD link between Ansys and Fusion360 like you can with Inventor or Solidworks. You can send a study from fusion to Ansys however this does not allow you to use the design exploration tools. Depending on model complexity you could import a step file into design space and use that to create the parameters and then use assembly joint in ansys to put your model back together again as you may have to make it a multibody component to allow for the dimensional behavior that you are looking to optimise.
