I am currently testing the GeneAid DNA extraction kit on abalone (Haliotis iris) attachment muscle tissue samples and it was working pretty fine, until I added the RNase A treatment (as stated in the same protocol) and that's when the DNA concentrations started to be very low. I know that some RNase A are not DNase free, so I boilt the RNase A at 95C for 15 mins first and then I centrifuged it and removed the supernatant so that I could obtain a DNase free-RNase... but I still get very low DNA concentrations. Has anyone had to deal with the same kind of situation?

If you're using nanodrop consider that it's not able to distinguish between RNA and DNA concentration; when you digest RNA, you get less value with pretty much the same amount of DNA.
