I will like to investigate the production of diamonds using a carbon cathode, and I wonder how much have been produce it so far. I found several papers on microwave PECVD, but none using vacuum arcs. I understand the ratio between Ch4 and H2 is key, also is a high temperature of synthesis, but I wonder if the free energy of the ions from a vacuum arc plume, ~ 100eV, will help to the epitaxial growth of the diamond structure at a lower temperature. Any reference will be very helpful. Thanks!
