ammonia-oxidizing bacteria and Thaumarchaeota can produce N2O through nitrification or nitrifier denitrification pathways. yet the mechnism is not very clear so far. dose anybody konw whether all of the ammonia-oxidizing bacteria and Thaumarchaeota have nitrite reduction gene ?
