Are there any programs that can analyze/measure the confluency of suspension cells/colonies (mammalian) from microscopy images? I know there are programs that do this for adherent cells, but I haven't seen anything for suspension cells. I'm assuming it's harder with suspension cells since all the cells are on different planes, but maybe a program takes a z-stack or overlaying all the images from a z-stack and keeping only the in-focus/darkest/widest colonies? I've added an image of the suspension cells/colonies.
