My lab has always used Toxtrac to track white rats in a black box for the Open Field Test (OFT). But, these new KO rats we‘re utilizing are white with a large brown stripe down the back. Toxtrac is having trouble distinguishing between the rat and the black background. I’m currently using white tape to cover the brown stripe but this is extremely inefficient.

Any suggestions on how to overcome this issue?
