For ICP-MS HNO3 digestion is the best choise, HCl cause interference on 75As as 40Ar35Cl+, H2SO4 SO2+ on Zn isotopes, HF may harm quartz parts of sample intoduction.

Dry ashing may result analyte losses (eg. As, Cd, Cu).

High quality reagents needed as well to avoid Ni, Fe, Cr contamination.

I am wondering what interferences have been experienced.

Respected Sir, Thanks for your suggestion. i tried HNO3 digestion at 180oC temperature but found interference problem for Mg, Mn, Fe, Ni and Zn. Also tried a variety pf protocols but found same problem. May be the problem is in temperature settings for digestion with HNO3. But can't get complete recovery of elements.

180°C should be enough for rice. A few years before we made an optimization and 0,5g rice could be efficiently digested by 8 ml cc. HNO3 at 180°C for 10 min.

You may have other source of error, causing loss of analyts. Youcan make a simple test: add STD solution to a blank of digestion before digestion, if recovery not sufficient not dissolution but loss or contamination is the problem.

Spectral interferences for the mentioned elements: 12C2 on 24Mg, 39K/Ar16O on 55Mn, 40Ar16O on 56Fe, etc. I guess you apply CCT/DRC for these elements.
