Trying to do an Ullmann-type reaction to form a diaryl ether between: aryl bromide containing an aminothiazole group and 4-chlorophenol. The reaction usually involves a Cu(I) source and some ligand to accelerate the reaction. I have tried amino-acid and phenanthroline as ligands but the reaction showed no progress (by TLC). I have tried microwave-assisted at very high temperature and this has not worked either.

I was wondering if anyone else had difficulty doing an Ullmann-type reaction to form a ether linkage and overcame this?
