I want to prepare gold or iron coated with polystyrene (core shell) particle. Can anyone help me to find out an easy way. I do not want to go for a complex polymerization reaction.
There were some studies on adsorption of soluble polystyrene on gold from theta-solvent (cyclohexane, 35oC) : Macromolecules 1995. V.28. P. 4990 – 4995. It can be that polystyrene particles adhere to gold under these conditions, too, without chemical modification of the polymer.
Modify the Au with a sub-monollayer of aminopropyltrierhoxysilane and if the PS is even slightly sulfonated it will be bound by ion exchange

Yes, please. The complete reference is Schlenoff J.B., Dharia J.R., Xu H., Wen L.Q., Li M. Adsorption of thiol-containing copolymers onto gold // Macromolecules 1995. V.28. P. 4290 – 4295. Sorry for the misprint ! They used homopolymer of styrene as a reference sample and registered adsorption from the theta-solvent.
You should do the polymerization reaction on Gold which guarentee the coating very well or try to use electrochemical procedure to do it
