Hi,
We require an automated particle counting system for a particle counting assay we have developed for our lab. The only need is to be able to count absolute number of particles in a solution of 1 ml volume.
Currently we use hemocytometer for this, but it is time and labor intensive with scope for user error. Flow cytometers require a calibrator solution and can give relative count but not absolute count. Also, they are expensive and we have to use institutional infra, which leads to error in samples since they have to be stored for longer periods than intended.

What particle size range and concentration? Do you just need the total count or a distribution?
John Francis Miller Yes, only absolute count for particle size between 1-10 um. Typically, one solution will have particles of one type only.
Most equipment we came across had to many functions that we don't need.
