I have about 12 forty minute interviews that require transcription and need some help! I'm looking for a good service at a reasonable price. What have you paid? What's the going rate?
Trina Jones out of New Zealand does a fantastic job. My previous work has been done I think for 40 NZD per hour. She is as fast as they come. We have been very happy with her. Hope that helps!
Please their is none that I know, but importing the data into Nvivo-Pro version 11 (Latest) can help you speedy up the process of transcription. However, from my experience with interview data transcription I would suggest you find time to do the transcription all by yourself, it is painstaking yes, but its worth doing it your self as the data analysis process actually begins from this stage. The total time to transcribe this 4 hours interview should take you approximately 30 hours. Goodluck
thanks for your replies - they are much appreciated! I would love to have the time to do them myself but I don't, so I think I have to throw money at the problem! I'm using Nvivo for the analysis and am finding it really interesting so far.
Good luck to you and you seem to have the right answers . Nvivo is really the best solution for the purposes of analyzing the contents and always all about the money when it comes to qualitative studies
Hi Lucy, thanks. But I hope you are using Nvivo-Pro version 11 it's very interesting and slightly better to Nvivo 10 as you have some features to develop beautiful conceptual models and thematic mind map with links between themes. If you need any support with those just drop me an email on [email protected] as I'm happy to lend some support.
The quickest and most cost-effective service is by TranscribeMe.com -- have a look. You just have to upload an audio file from your phone and can get the transcribed and quality controlled file within 24 or 48 hours, depending on the urgency. The fees are higher for quick turn around. The fee for normal transcription is about 75 cents per minute of audio. Best wishes, Jochen
