Have you tried poly-lysine? Your problem would seem to be a good application of this method. Poly-lysine is easily available, not very expensive, and should not kill the cells.

3.72% paraformaldehyde solution in PBS is better for fixation of this cell. I always do with it. I don't have such type of detaching problem. If you face problem, then coating of cover slip with Poly L-Lysine solution will solve your problem.
