I would like to know which textbooks would be best for giving an introduction to convex/conic optimization that provide the intuition for the following:

- Lagrange multiplier

- Dual/Primal problem

- Slater's conditions

- Optimization over conic set

- Maximum principle

I am working on a statistical issues involving creating simultaneous confidence intervals and the topics listed above frequently appear in the publications I have found.

So I would like an introductory text to understand them better. It does not necessarily have to be "mathy" but it should contain the ideas behind these topics.

For reference: I am an applied statistician with a BSc in mathematics (long ago...)
