Is there such a data set freely available, specifically in R? I tried to search in several packages and could find ones with interval censoring even current status data but not yet found any with left truncation. In the mean time I am looking at more packages and maybe sources other than R but I would appreciate any help.
The book "Statistical models based on counting processes" by Per Kragh Andersen (Copenhagen), Ørnulf Borgan (Oslo), Niels Keiding (Copenhagen), and myself, has a lot of worked examples based on real data sets, though I do not recall if we also had an example of the kind you want. I would suggest that you put your question to any (or all) of my co-authors.

I found the textbook by Patricia Grambsch and Terry Thernau "Modeling survival data" very useful - they had an excellent example around a dataset of patients referred to Mayo Clinic for cancer therapy months after initial diagnosis.
