In digital marketing right now, I think that the "hot" topics are about SEO, Content Marketing, personas, the growth of video for marketing, and questions of regulation of false information on social media (and how that affects advertisers).
Look for "Selfie Marketing". It is trending now. Also you can look over marketing issues from lens of covid 19.
