Is there any probabilistic study on When/If Artificial Intelligence may take over the humanity?
There is a very good book, published in 2018, and named "Hello World: How to be Human in the Age of the Machine", It might help.
An AI takeover is a hypothetical scenario in which artificial intelligence (AI) becomes the dominant form of intelligence on Earth, with computers or robots effectively taking control of the planet away from the human species. Possible scenarios include replacement of the entire human workforce, takeover by a superintelligent AI, and the popular notion of a robot uprising. Some public figures, such as Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk, have advocated research into precautionary measures to ensure future superintelligent machines remain under human control.Robot rebellions have been a major theme throughout science fiction for many decades though the scenarios dealt with by science fiction are generally very different from those of concern to scientists.
I'm not a renowed scientist in the subject, but here is a simple question: can you create something smarter than you ?

In my opinion, AI covers machine learning, deep learning, NLP, Computer vision.
No, in my opinion AI will not take over the world. In fact lots of jobs are replaced by AI using robots and drones. AI is a powerful business tool that is supporting companies and their customer service strategies. It’s creating a better customer experience. AI can not disapprove human death.
For the job concern, some extent it may overtake the job. Obviously, AI cannot perform physical tasks without a body or mechanism to interact with the physical world. It is limited to specific tasks and applications. Until AI is tested, proven, and trusted with independent operation, most human jobs will have little to fear from competition.
Artificial Intelligence will not eliminate our need to work. Calculators did not eliminate the need for engineers and statisticians. Automated car factories did not eliminate the need for automotive engineers and technicians. Medical detection is also not been eliminated by the AI, still it needs to be employed medical professionals to diagnose the tests.
