You could try to download the free OpenSim software (http://opensim.stanford.edu/) and follow the introduction as provided on their website. It may help you to understand the basics of computational modelling.
I would also recommend you to read some papers on for example OpenSim (for example: OpenSim: open-source software to create and analyze dynamic simulations of movement) and general papers on computational modelling (for example: Muscle and tendon Properties, models, scaling, and application to biomechanics and motor control).
