Just a proposal to Andrey: you might edit your question text especially 'ICH' to IHC, as well as when choosing the keyword also to use the proposal there: "immunohistochem* ".
This will help to (perhaps) attract more responders especially in the field of immunohistology, immunohistochemistry etc. Also it would be interesting for a serious proposal to know which IHC you would like to perform on which tissue. Thank you in advance, best wishes, and regards, W. H. M.
I agree with Mohamed, and suggest you use either methanol or cold acetone on frozen sections. However, it will also depend on your tissue and your primary antibody of choice. I run the initial comparison test against sections fixed with paraformaldehyde, unless the literature or product sheet say that paraformaldehyde inhibits binding to the epitope. I work with neural tissue; your tissue may be different.
Carnoy's solution (60% ethanol, 30% chloroform, 19% acetic acid and 1 g ferric chloride) or Clarke's solution (1;:3 glacial acetic and ethanol) are two fixatives without formalin. You may try
