Many small molecules are used in cell culture. How to get their concentration?Small molecules and Paper are too much……almost kill me. Is there a database?
Write "compound xxx structure" in Google site. You may find information on the molecule of your interest, regarding IC50 and other parameters on the same page or in references suggested by providers.
You can search by name of any materials or compounds you want to add, by production "companies" that , in the website of each company "guide", will provide you with detail that you need and may they provide you with ready mixed materials as any Kits, its so easy.Best of luck
The knowledge of IC50 (50% inhibitory concentration) and EC50 (activation concentration) of small compounds is a general way in choosing appropriate doses for assays. However, you can use other concentrations as well after checking that you observe the expected response in treated cells, such as inhibition of the level of a protein of your interest or activation of its phosphorylation, etc. Note, these values can be variable in cell different lines or microbial strains. You can find the example of the estimation EC50 below. If you find that this response and that of Prof. Kawas help you, please, do not forget to press green symbol.
