I'm doing research on the Self-Regulatory Model of illness behaviour (by Leventhal; also called the Common Sense Model) and pre-hospital delay among women with cardiovascular disease. Can you recommend any articles?

There is an older study from 2007 Time Trends in Symptoms and Prehospital Delay Time in Women vs. Men with Myocardial Infarction Over a 15-Year Period. The Northern Sweden MONICA Study by Rose-Marie Isaksson∗, Lars Holmgren, Dan Lundblad, etc. that looked at onset of MI and pre-hospital delay in men vs women. Also one from China 2010, Prehospital Delay for Acute Coronary Syndrome in China Cao, Yingjuan BMedSc, RN; Davidson, Patricia M. MEd, PhD, RN; DiGiacomo, Michelle PhD; Yang, Min MSN, RN. Both specifically looked more at women (this was from a nursing journal.) It looked at 28 studies and contributing attributions.

Yes, and the few studies appear even older. Amazing when you think of the discussion around women and heart disease! It should be interesting looking at the associate behavioral issues. I have read Leventhal, and find this of interest.
That's a shame, because to my opinion cardiovascular disease and pre-hospital should have more attention amongst women! Leventhal's model seems a useful one to examine and possibly to use for interventions (with my thesis I'm trying to see it it needs to be revised, changed, or maybe other models would better).
Do you know anyone that I can contact to find more articles related to this topic? I'm kinda stuck with the same articles over and over again in databases such as Scopus, web of science or own library, etc.
