We are searching for a chemical method to block periphery sympathetic activity, without bringing much toxicity to mice. According to literatures, 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) is a common drug, but is non-selective and toxicity. Is there any alternatives? If liver-specific drugs would be most appealing.

I think a combined sympathetic blocker like labetalol or carvedilol may be useful.

Thanks for such good amount information! It really helps a lot to me. For my present circumstance, a reversible sympathectomy in mice is preferred. According to the literatures, maybe 6-OHDA with intraperitoneal injection is a good option. I will take the other drugs, reserpine, 5.6-dihydroxytryptamine, labetalol or carvedilol into consideration as well.
