DEAR ALL, i going to use sago - gelatinized edible starch powder as geling agent in potato micropapogation give any refrance or suggestion were well come ....also i need suppler of same from india...
Starch from potato, cassava or maize can be used for gelling agent for micropropagation, but needs a higher concentration than agar-agar. However, some cultures produce exo-enzymes that break down the starch. Therefore, cultivation should not be too long. Make sure you use a pure starch without inhibiting factors.
The issue presents a thecnical problem. The true sago starch (Cycas revoluta) is not commercially available. There is a problem at the international level that confuses cassava starch with the true sago starch. This confusion stems from the fact that the sago is a Latin America commercial product of cassava starch. You are trying to make the starch gel true sago?
Henk Doddema ..i have one reference on potato microprapogation there they used sago starch and had no any inhibitory effect an used for long cultivation.
