Dear Dr. Reiss, broth dilution or agar diffusion/dilution tests are performed to examine antimicrobial properties of metal complexes. However, some bacteria show heavy metal resistance. MIC values were determined to test effectiveness of complexes and resistance. What is your main aim? and against which type of bacteria or microorganisms?
I was just curious to know if the metal complexes are going to be tested for their antimicrobial activity because this is not mentioned in the title of the project.
Of course yes you can check the antimicrobial activity of metal complexes which could be used as drugs by agar well diffusion assay and broth dilution method. MIC and MBC shold be tested using Muller Hinotn agar.
