Hi All,
I need large (1-5 mg) amounts of alpha-synuclein antibody. It is not effective to purchase, but it is also not efficient or cost effective to make in-house (even if we had the expertise). From what I gather the best compromise is to obtain a hybridoma, grown in-house, and purify the IgG from cell media with a Protein F column in house.
Can anyone recommend a company that can do this cost-effectively?

I think it is more complicated to obtain a hybridoma from a company than to obtain 5 mg of antibody. But why not ! it depends on the use and guarantees you can provide! You can find several suppliers who can provide you with such lots of antibodies. For example: Dendritics, which is now a subsidiary of Eurobio Scientific, can provide you with all sizes of antibody lots. Dendritics is distributed all over the world (for example: Novus) But for alpha-synuclein it depends on your goal and what part of this a-syn you want to target: human / murine, native / aggregated, subunit 1-95 / 61-140 ... Dendritics has about 70 clones directed against a-syn which are still under study, but some of which are already published and available in catalogs in many forms and quantities. Note : Its better , you eliminated bovine IG before antibody purification from Culture medium or used serum free medium .

@Reza. Thanks for the link. As for bovine products, the plan is to grow hybridomas without FBS. This stems from my Abeta work were the abeta region of bovine APP is identical to humans. So growing an anti-abeta antibody with FBS-containing media is not ideal. Looking at bovine aSyn the sequences are not identical, but close enough to cause issues with binding to the antibody I'm trying to grow.
The IgG point you brought up adds another reason not to use bovine products.
