Also while importing ICEM mesh to fluent, FLUENT is taking 3D option as default option and i'm unable to change that option to 2D as my analysis is on 2d aerofoil. Can someone help me?
About second part of the question:
Using ANSYS Workbench: In the object tree check 'geometry', select properties, and choose the analysis type "2D".
If you do not use Workbench, choose "2D" in the dialog window when you export the mesh in ICEM.
Oh, and starting FLUENT in 2D is set in launcher (when you click on FLUENT icon in your OS or Setup in Wokbench).
If problem 1 will continue appearing after problem 2 fixing, then, please, also check posts 2 and 3 from the thread on cfd-online about 2D ICEM Mesh.

The error message which you mentioned is to be appear, when you export mesh with wrong scaling i.e. export 2D mesh as 3D mesh. SO, I suggest during exporting mesh from icem specified whether mesh is 2D or 3D, as because 3D option is by default option. Thus, please pay attention and also use appropriate scaling parameter. Besides, I also willing to share that, you can change 2D or 3D condition in Fluent during starting.
From Gambit: Make sure you select solver-fluent 5/6 before exporting the mesh so the mesh would be compatible with fluent.
From Gambit: When exporting the mesh (in dialog box, where you enter the file name) Make sure you select 2_D below the file name.
