The calculation is done in the same way as for the circular pipe, replacing the diameter D with the hydraulic diameter Dh.
Dh = 4 x (Pi x (d1^2 - d2^2 ) / 4) / (Pi x (d1 + d2))
Where d1 = Inner diameter of larger pipe, d2 = Outer diameter of smaller pipe.

Dear Dinesh,
Yes, we must calculate the hydraulic diameter where the formula is proposed by Professor Bachir Achour. The prediction of pressure drop depends on the flow regime which is predicted by Reynolds number. We have several cases such as: laminar flow, Turbulent flow and transition from laminar to turbulent regime flow. For each case, we use the adequat equation.
