How relevant is the ancient Turkish proverb: "The trees voted for the axe again, because the axe was crafty and had convinced them that it was one of them, because it had the wooden handle."
Dear Ertan Taskavak and Sundus F Hantoosh, the meaning of the proverb is that: if the less well-off and the less culturally equipped (the trees) elect with their votes the richest (the axes) they cannot expect to be helped by the governments of the axes. The axe always manage with their propaganda to convince the less educated and generally poorer people that they (the axes) will be able to improve the lives of the poorest (the trees). Generally, this is not the case, in fact it is exactly the opposite. Because, the axe is made to cut down trees, as demonstrated by recent American events.
