Hello, I am an undergraduate student and, for a research methods class, we needed to come up with our own research idea and perform an analysis with data given to us by my professor. I was wondering if I was going on the right track with my analysis of said data. We have a repeated-measures mixed ANOVA design (I think that would be best?) with two groups. Both groups underwent a questionnaire at four different times, and we measured our participants on four different scales. Do the scales count as a repeated measure? I am using SPSS, and I'm unsure of how to proceed.

I'm trying to tread lightly here, in case you were to be responsible for the analysis as well as the research idea. The one point that wasn't clear was whether you have four scores per case (e.g., the scale is confounded with the occasion/time) or 16 scores per case. If it is the latter, then I would suggest that a multivariate repeated measures analysis be applied. If the former, you could go either way (e.g., mixed-RMeasures or ordinary manova), depending on your specific research question (and just how different the scales really were).

Yes, if your responses are quantitative then you are going good, if responses are categorical then go for Friedman test. Best of luck
TWO GROUPS MEASURED FOUR TIME sound like repeated measure until the different scale shows up...this is badly designed project. The scale should be the same. You will be comparing four different fruits. What can you conclude? Nothing. If the instrument is bad, the analysis is invalid and the conclude is erroneous. Change to one consistent scale with your four neasurements.
