I want to know about the concept of Airway Lead for a hospital please.

For resuscitation, the airway lead is the resuscitation comittee who do all the standardisation in line with the UK standard resuscitation guidelines. ww.alsg.org/home/

For elective anaesthetic issues, there is no airway lead that I am aware of.

For critical care our intensivists include two anaesthetists who lead.

For tracheostomy or other surgical airway support - this is led by ENT.

For non-invasive airway support the Respiratory physicians and a home ventilation team lead (after stabilisation on critical care).

Thanks Nicholas Mills , I got the idea. We have CARTs (cardiac arrest resuscitation team), in vogue, assigned for particular areas round the clock at our hospital.

For in-house Emergency airway needs (usually after a failed attempt by others, or anticipated difficulty) an anesthesia provider can be reached via cordless phone. As for management after intubation, that is accomplished by the intensivist team.
