Performed a clean room air sampling analysis using a impaction sieve sampler. It compliance with ISO 14698-1. Collected 500L of air at the flow rate of 100 litres/ min for 5 mins.
I used TSA plates for Total bacteria count, SDA for Yeast and mold count. The results are expressed in per m^3 (1000L).
There were no colonies grow on the two plates.
I expressed the results as
I am not familiar with this type of protocol but just a general thought out of a biological perspective would be 'What if there are organisms in the air that cannot be cultivated and/or cultivated with your specific media?'. If that is the case, then the room can be contaminated with organisms, but you just cannot with certainty say that the room is 'clean' (0 / m^3) since you might not be able to cultivate them even if they are there.
