Based on learned reviewers given comments and suggestions I have made corrections of my manuscript and resubmit the updated version. In this stage why does it is showing as "Editor Assigned" for more than 2 months instead of farther review/acceptance or rejection?
Editor is yet to handle your manuscript. Usually, editors will send the revised manuscripts quickly to reviewers who made comments or take final decision by themselves based on revision response. Find the average review period from the home page of the journal if available.
Usually, Journal editor will send the revised manuscripts to reviewers and take final decision on revision response. No one assure acceptance or rejection.
I have a similar experience (See below 'Editor invited' lasting for two months since the revision be submitted). During almost six months waiting, I send the handling editor two emails. The reason for such a long time absence is either difficulty in finding aviable reviewers and summer holiday...
