I have performed Batch Adsorption Experiments for Heavy metals and soil. I want to do calculations for Mass Balance Analysis. Can any one help me to do Mass Balance Analysis by explaining to me the procedure of Mass balance or by providing a paper or material regarding mass balance analysis.

regards i have question of compost application rate as iam conducting some organic fertilization experiments ,...should the calculations be based on N;P; or K or only organic matter content?
Taken the content of organic fertilizer(manures) nitrogen as a basis
And taken into account that the quantity of available NPK 30% in the first year
As for the second year so available NPK, 25% the third year 45% possible
manures have a residual effect
so N; P and K have the same percentages of avaialbilty...for all types of organic fertilizers...(from animal and palnt origin).?

You can use different adsorption isotherm equation i.e. Langmuir, Freundlich etc. and plotting adsorbed phase (conc.) vs. Equilibrium solution concentration you will get curve from that curve you draw best fit lines and get the constant values of these equation from the slope and intercept.
