I have collected ground truth points using hand-held GPS receiver for assessing classification accuracy. I went to the field to see what the land covers are and record their coordinates (x,y). The classification work was conducted after the field work due to some reasons. Should I use these points to directly compute the confusion matrix? How about "Generate Random Sample"? Could anyone help me to explain more clearly in my case which methods I should use to assess the classification accuracy? I am using ENVI software.
