It is well known that the precursor SREBP-1 is localized in ER, and its mature isoform SREBP-1C can be translocated into nucleus. Do you think it is possible that SREBP-1 is also present at mitochondria? Any idea or evidence welcomes.
Why I came up with this question because we identified that some mitochondrial proteins have the potential to interact with SREBP1. If SREBP1 is present in the mito, then all the observations look more reasonable.
