i tried nitrogen isotope  analysis  for clay fractions sediment hosted around seafloor vent system.

those data-set results showed light tendency.

TN-isotope values A-site  0 ~ -5‰, B-site -5~-6‰ IN-isotope values after KOBr-KCl treatment showed A-site 0~ -15‰, B-site -10~-20‰

generally, mantle nitrogen isotope values are -5 ‰(av.) from N2 gas form in fluid inclusions.

and, you know that potassium bearing minerals can exchange nitrogen such NH4+ form in crystal structure (i.g. mica,  2:1 clay minerals).

however, still, we have insufficient information about nitrogen isotope values such  origin or fractionation mechanism.

About the nitrogen isotope interpretation how to approach those light nitrogen isotopic values from inorganic nitrogen such NH4+ in crystal lattice; from clay fractions around seafloor vent system. anyone who give me some advice about this issue.
