i analyzed for smectite (i.e. montmorillonite or saponite) by XRD, but sometimes it is difficult to be sure that between saponite and Fe contained montmorillonite at (060) peak position. so that it was analyzed by EPMA for smectite, and my purpose is only the identification of elements in smectite.
anyone who explain to me below the table of analytical data set.
i don't know whether the means of "Cation" is Mg2+, Al2+, Fe+ or not.
in addition, anyone who tell me about ZAF methods?
and advise me, how to make the table component?

Dear Jo, The cations analyzed are Mg2+, Si4+, Al3+ and Fe2+, and Ti4+, Ca2+, Na+ and K+ (MgO, SiO4, Al2O3 and FeO, and TiO2, CaO, Na2O and K2O in the tables you show). ZAF corrections are generally automatically applied/integrated during EPMA process. see the links below among others. Regards, A.
