I have performed a DIYABC analysis on my SNP data to look for the best demographic scenario containing admixture populations. Now I am wondering what is the difference between that and the ABAB-ABBA test? as far as I understood both are looking for historical admixture in populations considering that gene flow exist, scenarios are based on F statistics, and probably the only difference is the D statistics analysis in the latter test to check for the direction of gene flow, also interpreting it based on z scores is not really straightforward!

I would like to know more professional opinions on these two tests pleas
