Hi everybody,

I´m trying to simulate a two-step bending process in Abaqus/CAE. Between the bending steps unfortunately I need to cut certain parts of my sheet. Then I want to simulate my second analysis on the basis of the results from first analysis. (stresses, hardening,..)

To do so I got my results (stresses,deformations,..) from the first analysis, imported the deformed mesh (.odb-file) to second analysis, used several CAE-Tools to create a new solid part out of the deformed mesh, and finally I´m able to cut my solid part to the shape I need for second analysis.

My question now is: How to remesh my trimmed part with the results from the first analysis? How would u solve my problem? In the following I explain how I tried to solve it myself.

To import my results from first analysis I used predefined field (inital state) and later analytical field (hardening). By using predefined field I got errors like my surfaces are not defined which is strange because my second analysis is correctly modeled (it works if no results are imported) .  Is the problem that there are several elements missing to the previous mesh because I trimmed my model?

My second try was to use analytical field (mapped field - from .odb - from viewport) and use it in the predefined field function (hardening) but there I got errors in the abaqus interface.

I hope I was able to explain my problem. I really appreciate your help (also additional ways of solving the problem)

Regards,

Markus
