Hi everyone,

do you have some tips what can cause a high absorbance of Na in a blank solution? I'm adding a picture with a calibration curve.

Solutions are made in 2% HNO3 + 2000 mg/L KCl and are kept in plastic flasks.

The only difference between std 1 - std 5 and blank is that blank is clear solution of 2% HNO3 + 2000 mg/L KCl and standards are a combination of Na and Ca. Can this be the problem? Some interference between Na and Ca which can decrease the absorption of Na in standards?

Thanks

Denisa
