A photo of a person or thing clicked through a camera is absolutely perfect. Sketches or pictures drawn by an artist is artistically or aesthetically perfect. A mirror image is also perfect, but cannot be touched and also in different direction.
The question is, according to you, which one is more perfect?
And if you are to praise the creator (of the photograph, sketch, picture or mirror image), to whom will you give more credit?
I would generally resist invoking any notion of perfection, and the notion of degrees of perfection, while now commonly used in speech, is on careful consideration somewhat odd ; after all, if something is less perfect or less than perfect, then it is not perfect.
Photos result at the extreme end of a causal chain and are subject to the vagaries of that causal chain and may therefore be flawed in many ways -- poor resolution, focus, lighting, etc. Also, we are often surprised at how a photo of a person doesn't look like them at all; vision is dynamic and our eye is a roving eye in respect of what it looks at, whereas a photo captures a static moment which isn't always in accord with our lived experience. Here visual artworks may actually select the more salient aspects of what we see, and in that sense they may be more faithful to the object as perceived.
Mirror images, as long as they aren't in distorting funhouse mirrors, can be indistinguishable* from direct perception, and in that sense are perfect proxies.
As for credit, well, that depends on the skill of the artist, regardless of whether he or she be a painter, sketch artist, or photographer.

Interesting question and a lot of insights from Prof. Karl. All the three domains cited try to depict the exact replica of objects. As an artist myself, I have seen that none of these could qualify as perfect as several factors may thwart the depiction of the object's realism. However, if we are to ask which one may be closer to the real object, we can say it is dependent on the artist/who is executing the task- his skills and expertise in it. For instance, I can sketch and paint the exact replicas of objects with all their minute details. So, the representations could be said to be a true replicas of them. I doubt if we can use the word 'perfection' to refer to such masterpieces. In art history books, authors have used the term 'close to perfection' to refer to similar objective representations of things in nature in what we term as 'realism'.
However, we try to mimic what is in nature in static representations. We may not take the glory but always have to give it to the one or great powerful creature who brought all of them into existence.

Everything has its positive and negative outcome. As now with production of very high camera resolution may be photo would be very clear. However one have to taken into account that nothing is very prefect.

By photo or picture, I meant the scientific ones too often used in research manuscripts.
Sir, your question is very interesting & rather provocative. As per my view, I would prefer to suggest the photo clicked through camera as it is most perfect without question. We should better use the photo clicked through camera in the research papers...that is much appropriate & scientific.
