White mold disease, caused by the fungus Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, is causing damage to a number of vegetable such broccoli, cauliflower, celery, lettuce, onion, and other vegetables. Diseased tissues eventually are covered with white mycelium, white mycelial mounds that are immature sclerotia, and finally mature, hard, black sclerotia. Mature sclerotia usually form after tissues are rotting and breaking down. The black sclerotium is the survival stage of the fungus also Sclerotium rolfsii on carrot . Onion white rot Stromatinia cepivora (syn. Sclerotium cepivorum) Back to all plant problems is a serious fungal disease of onions, garlic and leeks causing wilting and yellowing foliage. Rhizoctonia solani on potato, Macrophomina phaseolinaon All formed black Sclerotium

Thanks to you sir for the valuable information. The fungi observed by me not only have black to dark brown sclreotia , it was elongated or long and thin. As much I explored most of the suggested fungi formed round to oval shaped sclerotia. Sir, Kindly help me in this respect also.
