Strategies in the control of an outbreak are screening, containment (or suppression), and mitigation. Screening is done with a device such as a thermometer to detect the elevated body temperature associated with fevers caused by the coronavirus. Thank you for breaking-down the strategic alternatives: containment, mitigation, and suppression. The SARS-CoV2 pathogen is a particularly nasty, insidious pathogen for humans. Might some populations be more suseptible to viral pathogens than others? Perhaps some population-level strategies might be warranted. Why have certain countries and populations apparently fared much better than other countries, in terms of mortality to COVID19? Is it possible that the prevalence of subclinical scurvy is the distinguishing characteristic? Conceivably, the geographic variation in sunlight exposure, D3 and C levels is related epidemiologically to the mortality rate. Perhaps a large-scale trial of "dusting" the entire population with L-ascorbic acid and flavonoids, e.g. by air, food, and water. Even parenteral routes might be considered. High dose IVC has shown efficacy in reversing endothelial dysfunction (which typifies sepsis, ischemia, and cancer). In such a strategy, the so-called "terrain" is not just passive against the "germ". Nucleophilic radical philicity has been assigned to the L-ascorbic acid free radical (See recent review article by Davidson & Winey 2021). A "surgeon's nano-scalpel" in the hands of a great "surgeon" may have been gifted to humanity by Our Creator. Crop-dusting can restore exhausted "soil". Fear and hysteria are being employed to control the population. We have a God-given right to autonomy over our bodies and health decision-making. Governments, regulators, drug companies, and frankly many in the orthodox medical establishment, have made mistakes! They should not be allowed to limit the rights of those who simply favor a right to choose as well as a right to decline.

A comparative Policy Analysis can help mitigate the effects of COVID-19 pandemic. The various governments across different countries have faced many healthcare-related disasters over the years, however, COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus is an unprecedented calamity faced by them. Therefore, the policies employed to mitigate the pandemic are subjected to analysis due to differences in their planning, outcome, and implementations for mitigation of the crises of COVID-19.

COVID-19 pandemic led to a different response by different governments and authorities which were countered by varying levels of compliances by the public leading to a scenario of public health complexity that requires intensive studies comprising a huge amount of collaborative work by poly makers and healthcare authorities (Capano et al., 2020; Comfort et al., 2020). The lessons learned from the policies that outperformed the ones that require improvement can lead to a comprehensive framework of outline and policy to deal with the pandemic. The literature available on comparative policy analysis can provide a better account of policy harmonization, fallacy avoidance, and good responses by authorities for mitigating the pandemic. According to the literature, the different demographics, politics, cultures, and regions are affected differently by the outbreak, implying the policies need to be locally tailored and convergent for addressing the outbreak in the contexts defined above.

Lessons learned from the literature analysis

In a comparative study on Mexico, the United States, and Canada, it was revealed that a policy window was generated due to healthcare financing issues so that reforms can be put in place. The policy window remains intact due to the pandemic and the political streams are being observed by the scholars to determine the changing policies in these countries (Béland et al., 2021). The data from social media suggest that the setting of public-led agenda dictates the responses from the government that are selective and governments also demonstrate the recognition of social emotions that are appeared on social media (Dai et al., 2021). Partisan politics along with the interests of the politicians strongly influence the public health measures that are considered restrictive measures and contain the enforcement language in different states in the United States (Curley et al., 2021). The extension and enactment of the measures involving strong social distancing and safety remained ineffective due to the risks associated with the prevalence of COVID-19 (Warner & Zhang, 2021). The comparison of dictatorial and democratic systems of government by comparing China and the U.S. revealed that the local level autonomy to the authorities remained effective in carrying out the policies for COVID-19 (Liu et al., 2021). A cross-cultural study revealed that the healthcare providers are key to integrate communication between the citizens and the government for successful mitigation of the COVID-19 pandemic by the example of the comparison between Kenya and Thailand (Sudhipongpracha & Poocharoen, 2021).

Conclusion

COVID-19 pandemic is an ongoing problem for governments all over the world where the situation is changing daily regarding the severity and transmissibility of the virus. The vaccinations procedures are ongoing with normality still far from the surface as of the current situation. Public policy is dictated by numerous factors including the socio-economic, cultural, and educational factors of a country. The data presented in this analysis can be of assistance in determining lessons learned from different policies enacted in different countries to form a scholarly opinion about the COVID-19 pandemic. It is therefore recommended that the policies be inclusive that contextualize the cultural, political, and social background of the target population with measures taken from consultation with primary healthcare providers that can bridge the gap between the agenda-setting public and policymaking governments.

Very scholarly answer! Sadly, the global pandemic persists, now in the form of new variants, e.g. "Omichron". Government policies don't appear to be succeeding. in many respects, we appear to be repeating recent mistakes. Long held conventional "widsom" (dogma), both clinical and scientific, need to be revisited. The recent WARNING by Gundry (cited below) in a 2021 Abstract was recently published in Circulation. His data and warning appear to parallel and explain the numerous reports of myocarditis, pericarditis, and thrombotic events, which have been reported by the U.S. CDC in their guidance to physicians and the U.S. CDC VAERS database, notwithstanding the generally-acknowledged gross under-reporting of vaccine-associated adverse events to the VAERS database.

Clinically, endothelial dysfunction, generally, and he Sanarelli-Shwartzman Phenomenon (SSP), specifically, is neither rare nor unpredictable. Thus, the inflammatory microvascular and thrombotic events being reported in temporal association with the mRNA inoculations should not be portrayed as either rare or unpredictable "Black Swan" events. To wit, the SSP has been observed and studied for over a century. Sepsis, cancer, and myocardial ischemia, e.g. "acute coronary syndromes (ACS), have probably been present and afflicting humans since antiquity, e.g. Purpura Fulminans and sepsis.

Collectively, we are still facing considerable uncertainty as to the future. Celebration is clearly premature. Draconian regulatory enactments have already occurred and more are on the horizon. On the other hand, I share with you and RG citation to recently published Conference proceedings (Winey & Davidson 2021) and a published review article (Davidson & Winey 2021) in which a novel supramolecular strategy has been proposed which offers a complementary or alternative approach to countering the SARS-CoV-2 pathogens and its variant strains, e.g. delta and omicron.
