Andrographolide as an extract of andrographis paniculata is the active ingedient that might work on leukoplakia and the cancer that can develop if not removed with a laser, which I’ve had done for about 10 years. But each time this is done i lose a bit of voice so somehow i need to stop the leukoplakia recurring. Is this the word limit?

I was about to write that Xu etal (2014) published in Amer J of Otolalaryngology a paper tiltled Positive therapy of andrographolide in vocal fold leukoplakie

They got about 85% success.

Thanks for this answer. I can often get what I need from abstracts and snippets but the Xu paper (see my reply to Phil) refers to "atomised" topical delivery of andrographolide to their patients' vocal cords and that must have been tricky because it's not water soluble, so I can't use it in my OMRON nebuliser, which I hoped to inhale as a mist.

I got some Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) from a biochemist. This can be used to make it water soluble but using it is beyond my skill (and I'm told it could be dangerous).

Anyway, I'm using a tincture of andrographis paniculata (the plant itself rather than the extract) which IS water soluble in my nebuliser, but is quite a lot weaker than the extract, andrographolide, which I can take in pill form in the hope that it will reach my vocal cords systemically (presumbly in my blood). Do you have any comments on this plan which, by th eway, I have to use because Australia doesn't list it as a safe herb, unlike the FDA in the USA where they allowed a patent on it, which sold as ParActin.
