Hi! I am modelling a 3d transmission tower composed of beam elements in ANSYS APDL. I want the joints of the tower to act as pin joints. For that matter I use ENDRELEASE function in APDL and release the moments at the joints and couple the corresponding translational degrees of freedom. Once I do that, I run modal analysis to get the frequencies. The frequencies turn out as zero and if I see the animation, there is rigid body motion and the point where I released the moment goes in and out. Can someone tell me how to solve this? Right now, I am releasing moments at the nodes which I want as pin joint but that doesnt seem to work.
