can any one tell me after reacting with singlet oxygen how does it actually reduce the absorbance or why?
Because the 2-amino, 3-hydroxy pyridine is oxidized by singlet oxygen, generating 2-iminopyridin-3(2H)-one. As you can see, the conjugation pi system is changed, which shifts the obsorbance away from 318 nm. You will observe almost no absorption at 318 nm if the reaction proceeds completely. Regards,
