AISI 1045 steel, is being quenched in oil from 900C, but it produces ferrite on grain boundaries which is causing problem in machining (in Turning long chips are formed which are hard and causing tool damage plus machine is vibrating).
I want to avoid ferrite content on grain boundaries on martensite in oil quenching. The temperature of oil at the time of quenching is 40C.
Please give your suggestions.
