Can you give some details about the objective of your work..is it soil - structure interaction analysis , what is the maximum expected load for the given problem then soil conditions in which doing your analysis..if you give some more details then solution can be explained to you..also you have not mentioned about what is your expected benefit by increasing the load step..ok all the best..
You have not mentioned about the magnitude of load and nature of its application on the pile. What i advice to you better restart your analysis and does not need to increase the load step. The main benefit of increase in number of load step is mainly to predict better nonlinear response under the given applied load. also, the accuracy of solution will be better..meant that the results obtained from analysis is converging with exact solution..ok all the best..
thank you too much...u put point load on the top of the pile...and the magnitude is 600kn and the diameter is 1 meter ...the first letter was that the soil body will collapse,,then i increase the parameters of the soil..the second letter was not enough load steps...does this mean the soil and pile can not stand this big load
hi..your problem is simple and easy to solve..there was not enough load steps and soil body collapse ..indicate that in numerical model convergence criteria not satisfied or you can say yield condition not satisfied ..so this means that you need to verify both soil and pile properties..now you tell me whether you need to work for the pile embedded in sandy soil (Cohesionless soil) or clay soil (cohesive soil)..similarly whether you are simulating the pile as concrete pile, steel pile, wood pile or aluminium pile..you give the details about the soil properties and pile properties including failure model used to simulate the problem..if you give these details i verify and guide you whether your material properties are correct or not correct.. another point what i suggest to you first you try to simulate PLAXIS tutorial problem ..after getting confident on simulating the known problem then you try for your work..are you using PLAXIS new version or old version..if you need PLAXIS manual including tutorial problems, then, i will send to you..ok all the best..
