Young researchers are not very much enthusiastic towards the research as they should be is it true globally ?

I met several young researchers who are persuing research in various different fields but a lot of them are not passionate and enthusiastic towards their research as expected they should be, however most of them are trying to make their carrier in different field (even are going for some class 3 or 4 government jobs), it is because of financial problems and liabilities but is it good to lost faith in the research ? and what can be a tremendus solution for this ?
