As I believe in entrepreneurship, particularly technology and innovation related entrepreneurship, I have always encouraged my students who took courses in technology and innovation or innovation and entrepreneurship, to start their own businesses so that they could be their own bosses and not do the bidding of some narrow-minded, myopic manager who has only eyes for the next monthly, quarterly or annual report. As a consequence I have invested in several technology-based start-ups looking for funding.
If your book is going to be original and offer fresh, unexpected perspectives, I would fund your project. That said, original books will not need crowd-funding...there will I am sure be publishers who might want to publish your book. I know... I have reviewed several book manuscripts for UK and US publishers. I am myself right now writing three books at the same time, on three unrelated topics/areas.
